Your blend
Black. Nothing in the way.
Black coffee has nowhere to hide, so we gave it nothing to hide behind. No chicory. Just Arabica, clean and sharp.

Your blend
Black coffee has nowhere to hide, so we gave it nothing to hide behind. No chicory. Just Arabica, clean and sharp.
Your blend
Hot milk eats weak coffee for breakfast. The 30% chicory gives the decoction body, so the last sip in your tumbler still tastes like coffee. Chicory isn't a dilution. It's the plan.
Your blends
You're not one kind of person. Your shelf doesn't have to be either. Get both pouches and decide each morning.
The freshness
Most coffee powder is ground before anyone orders it.
Ours is ground and packed after your order lands. Not a day before.
You'll notice the difference when you cut the pouch open.
It ships in 7 days. That's how long doing it in this order takes.
Filter coffee asks for 10 minutes. We ask for 7 days. Same idea, one size up.
The enemy
Instant coffee is coffee someone else brewed, dried into granules, and sold back to you.
You save 10 minutes. You lose the part where it becomes coffee.
Nothing against fast. We'd just rather the brewing happened in your kitchen.
The pouches
Both ground for a South Indian filter. Both in a resealable pouch with a brew guide inside. ~25 cups per 250g.
For filter coffee with milk.
For coffee you drink black.
Still deciding? One question is faster. Black or with milk?
The Standing Order
A [X]g pouch every month, each one ground for that month. The first box also brings everything you need to brew it.
Minimum commitment: 3 months, paid once, upfront. Pick your blend at checkout.
Start the Standing OrderYou drink coffee every morning. Buying it one pouch at a time was always the odd part.
The ritual
The Ten-Minute Drip
2 heaped spoons into the top chamber. Press flat with the plunger.
Pour 120ml of just-boiled water over it. Lid on. Leave it 10 minutes.
1 part decoction, 3 parts hot milk. Taking it black? Hot water instead of milk.
Pour it between tumbler and dabara until it froths. The height is not optional.
On the Standing Order? The decoction maker and dabara set arrive in your first box.
The receipts
of customers ordered again. 8 in 10.
orders shipped in 10 months.
batches roasted. Every one ground after an order, never before.
Small numbers. We count every one.
The original
Hot water, ground coffee, gravity, 10 minutes. That's the whole method.
South Indian kitchens ran slow drip every morning, long before pour-over became a personality.
Your grandparents did this daily. They just didn't post about it.
It was never retro. It was early.
The objections
“I don't have a filter.”
Any steel South Indian filter works. Or start the Standing Order and box 1 brings one.
“Which blend do I get?”
Black: Pure Blend. With milk: House Blend. Can't decide: both.
“Why 7 days? That's slow.”
We don't grind until you order, so your pouch starts from beans, not a shelf. Faster would mean grinding in advance, which is the one thing we won't do.
“Why chicory? Isn't that cheating?”
Chicory gives the decoction body, so it holds up against hot milk. Drinking it black? That's why the Pure Blend has none.
“How is this different from my local store's powder?”
Theirs was ground before it reached the shelf, and nobody there knows when. Ours is ground after you order, so the answer is “this week.”
The reviews
Reviews are brewing. Slowly, like everything else here.
First order
Never used a filter? Start with 250g of either blend.
The brew guide inside assumes you've never done this before.
No filter at home? The Standing Order sends one in box 1.
In that order.

FAQ
You can. It'll taste thinner than the House Blend, which has chicory for exactly that job.
Within 7 days. We grind and pack your pouch first, then it goes out.
We ship pan-India.
About 25 cups. At one a day, most of a month.
It's ground for a South Indian filter. Other brewers will work, but the filter is what it's made for.
